Icelandic Design Art Deco theme is inspired by finely tailored jackets on London's Saville Row, this group emphasizes beautiful stitching, fit and shape. Each piece features detailing in silk, velvet, as well as exquisite embroidery on textured boiled wool. Elegant Black with accents of Olive or Red, Sorbet and Gray and Cobalt blue make these beautiful jackets practical accent pieces to stand out for day or evening.

Icelandic Design Big Sky - In tribute to traditions of the West, this year's Big Sky collection features boiled wool in a variety of ways. Combined with a reverse-knit, embroidered hand made fabric boiled wool jackets and vests are richly textured with an almost hand-woven feel. Faux suede appliquTs with hand embroidery feature carved rose stencil designs as well as Navajo-style embroidered motifs in cardigan jackets and a vest. The group features colors evocative of the Southwest: Turquoise and Malachite, Red-rock, Earth and Onyx.

Icelandic Design Breckenridge - This group is a playful rendition of the Nordic sweater. Oversized and mis-matched patterns and patchwork combine with bright, clear color. Each piece is knit in soft, lambs wool and shaped with flattering princess seams and details such as stand up collars, shirt collar and a hoodie. Familiar ski-sweater tones of Black, Snow and Strawberry, with Sky and Cobalt blue, Raspberry and Coral and touches of Turquoise give a true shot of color to the collection.

Icelandic Design Folk Art - In the spirit of Folk Art in Europe, these sweaters are rich in details of authentic embroidery and applique- taken to a modern direction. Each piece is a masterpiece in its execution of hand-done techniques and styling. Shapes include short cardigans- contoured and zipped, as well as exaggerated V-neck cardigans with loop or clasp closures. There are two vests, two hoodie duffle-type jackets, a beautiful embroidered cape and a long duster jacket- all knit in soft lambs wool or boiled wool. Colors featured are Black and Charcoal, Ivory and Loden, Strawberry and Cobalt Blue- all crisp, new interpretations of Northern European traditions.

Icelandic Design Metropolitan is clean and graphic, with a touch of whimsy, the first four boiled wool jackets of this group feature playful design details: stacked buttons and layered colors of boiled wool, tonal quilted embroidery with chunky ribbing, and "reverse applique" with hand embroidery. These are fun, modern jackets in crayon colors of Turquoise, Citrus green and Red, as well as Black. The second part of the group is comprised of soft, light boiled wool paired with accent panels stitched in a panoply of patterns in velvet, silk solids and prints, creating a rich, artistic tapestry fabric. The effect is textural and richly colorful. Loop closures with beautiful buttons complete the detailing. The color palette in this group features Peridot and Malachite, Sorbet, Cream and Black.

Icelandic Design Newari - Fall 2008 features the beauty of the Newari hand knit program in celebration of color and craftsmanship. A variety of special cardigans are knit in local wool, hand dyed in small kettles and knit by the Newari women's collective in Nepal. Design features include hand embroidery and patch work patterns, textural knit stitches and directional pattern play. This year we have included an offering hand knit in 100% cotton, emphasizing beautiful embroidery and soft wearability- extending this category for our non-wool wearing customer while maintaining the charm and beauty of the Newari tradition. Whether knit in wool or cotton, color speaks all to this collection: Rose, Amethyst and Lavender, Forest and Pear green, Turquoise and Lapis, Tomato, Strawberry and Cerise.

Icelandic Design Nordic Chalet - Featuring elegant, Nordic themes, Nordic Chalet plays off new renditions of Icelandic Design's signature offering: Boiled wool and Lambs wool, lined jackets with beautiful embroidery. Shapes for this new collection include short and mid-length jackets, two vests, a notched-collar riding jacket as well as a full-length, lined coat with a hood, flaps and suede tabs and clasps. Loden, Ivory and Charcoal, Bronze and Black comprise the Classic palette, with Jade, Hibiscus, Coral and Regatta blue as accent tones. Embroidery themes play off Dutch tiles, Edelweiss flowers and Swedish hand painting on wood.

Icelandic Design Northern Lights - Like a fluffy blanket on a cold, snowy day Northern Lights is all about softness and light. The first part of the group is knit in a lightweight, signature fabrication combining Viscose, Angora and Nylon. All-over jacquards feature Vintage ski sweater motifs, dancing wind-blown flowers and gothic, ornamental tapestry themes. Silhouettes are short and close to the body with zipper closures. The palette for these pieces is composed of Pear green, Emerald, Turquoise, Coral, Pink with touches of Black and Snow white. The second part of Northern Lights is knit on two needles, by hand. Three cardigans are based on the Icelandic Design signature style, featuring traditional motifs and hand-spun type wool/angora yarns. Sky colors of Aqua and Light blue, with Pale Pink, Chocolate and Vanilla make this a luscious, yet familiar grouping. Two other cardigans feature hand knit cables and pointelle openwork- based on traditions of the British Isles, in gorgeous colors of Classic Gray, Rose and Sky blue, Cream, Berry and Turquoise. This year they are hand knit in soft wool blended with mohair, as well as a luxurious wool/silk with mohair blend.

Icelandic Design Sierra - Icelandic Design branches out into faux suede jackets. Soft, buttery faux suede with shearling forms the canvas on which Dupioni silk appliquTs and stitching are applied. The pieces have a modern geometry in their embellishment, graceful lines and expert tailoring. The group is comprised of a shaped, asymmetrical vest, a short jacket, and a fingertip-length coat with toggle closure and turn-back collar & cuffs. Working off the earth tones of Barn red, Cognac brown, Loden, Buff and Black these jackets present a new texture and perspective.

Icelandic Design Sport - The Sport group is an energetic Ski-themed collection created in Merino wool, as well as Merino combined with Elastin for stretch and memory. All styles are body conscious, unlined and shaped with ribbing details, princess seams and lighter weights. Modeled on Outdoor themes, there are two pullovers, one cardigan and a hoodie cardigan and vest. Snowflakes and checks and snow-flowers, covered seams and trims and double zippers emphasize the playful, sporty quality of this group. The colors are full of life: Strawberry, Coral and Magenta, Basil, Jade and Black with accents of Snow white.

Icelandic Design Versailles - The innovative fabric of this group is a "puffy" wool/elastic jacquard which combines the richness of Merino wool with the stretchy memory of elastic. The jacquards have a classical air, while the ability of the sweaters to hug and to move makes them new and fresh. Sporty zip cardigans, a hoodie, interesting collar treatments with princess seams and shaping, create a whole new category. The sweaters are light-weight and unlined. Colors featured are Amethyst and Olive, Periwinkle, Turquoise, Wine and Neutrals- all paired with Black.

Icelandic Design Vintage Nordic - In the tradition of hand knit wool sweaters from Scandinavia, these styles feature intricate Nordic knit patterning with Vintage buttons, velvet trims and European-style jacquard ribbons. The silhouettes are easy in order to emphasize the beauty of the knitting and the details within. Classic colors include Black, Ivory and Bronze with "pop" colors such as Delphinium blue, Olive green, Hibiscus Red and a soft Pink. All are unlined in high-twist wool, and feature either Nordic antique silver buttons or clasps.
