Bryggen is a magnificent sweater that relates to Bergen's history and culture. The design is named and inspired by the wharf "Bryggen" which is the most distinct symbol of Bergen as a proud city of shipping and trade. The main pattern that appears on the shoulders and the sleeves is a conventional form of cordage sybolizing the harbour "Bryggen" and emphasizing the maritime tradition that has been Bergen's cornerstone for hundreds of years. The pattern with the cordage also expresses the authentic craftsmanship, which is well known throughout the city. Produced in the old times, these rope walks are still prevalent in various parts of the city. The front of the sweater bears the symbol of "The Seven Mountains" which is also used in the Official Bergen logo. This element converges into the structural pattern that symbolizes the wake of a ship.
