Newari Handknits

For nearly 20 years, Icelandic Design has been working with the Newar people of Nepal, primarily in Kathmandu, designing and manufacturing the most beautiful hand knitted products with incredibly exceptional quality. Fine New Zealand wool is hand dyed in vats and each hat, glove, mitten or Christmas stocking is hand knitted individually. Each piece is embellished with whimsical hand embroidered or crocheted details. Icelandic Design currently employees approximately 850 Nepali women artisans and passionately works to help better the lives of their knitters and their community. Love of their art and passion for their craft is seen in every stitch of the Newari Artisan's handmade treasures.
